¡Hola Córdoba!

I can't even begin to tell you the joy I feel right now. My mission call has arrived and the countdown has commenced. (about 3 months and 25 days, give or take) Today I spent my morning writing my acceptance letter to the First Presidency, trying to contain my high amounts of giddy-ness throughout that letter. However, now that I've received my call, there are still a few steps I need to take still. First and foremost, I need to send in that acceptance letter ASAP. Next, shots... and quite a few. (Oh in-between 1 and 2, I'm gonna receive the topic for my talk (yay!)) After that, I think I can be interviewed to go to the temple. And finally, after several months of waiting, the "Farewell" talk, and the final good-byes. Wow.... well, I'll keep y'all posted on such things. Good Light all!

Long Time.. No see

Haven't been on here for a while, but I can blame it on a good thing, work.

I've been working almost everyday of the week for the last 5 weeks and it has been an interesting experience. I've learned a lot about my co-workers and about myself here.

That aside, there's other more important news now. I've officially turned in my mission papers, now I'm just awaiting that envelope in the mail. there really hasn't been much else goin' on so, tty'all later.

Wow.... haven't updated this for a while

I've decided while my clothes are drying, I should update this.

So the season starts. Noooooo not fall. The football season! K, while officially it's only the preseason, it is still part of the regular season. Even though I've always love football, mainly cause of the Philadelphia Eagles, last year I decided I would really follow NFL watching games or even news about the games.

It's been fun, especially trying to decide which teams I would follow, besides the Eagles. I've decided on a few teams, but it's not solidified.

Last night was a fun night though, watching the NY Jets V the Baltimore Ravens. After goin' to Cold Stone to pick up a Blueberry Banana Smoothie, I sat down to watch this game. It was intense and very good. The final score was Ravens 24 Jets 23 due to the Ravens swatting down the Jets 2-pt. Conversion.

So yeah, I've got work once again today, I'm excited, today's the first day I get to work longer than 5 hours today, especially since I'm finally starting to get the hang of it.

Well so long for now!

48......hours.....straight....... *snore*

This week I competed in a film festival held for all of the high schools. One of the areas of competition is the 48 hour shoot-out.

It was fun, long and tiring, but worth it for the video we came up with.

Here's the video, be warned, you could be offended by the content in it....

Scholarship: Deffered

For the past couple of months, I've been trying to defer the scholarship I attained for SUU.

While in constant contact with the SUU area rep, through email of course, we attempted to send it by fax, multiple times, and finally by letter.

When we sent it by letter and we didn't receive a fast response, I feared that it was lost.

However when I checked my Gmail account this evening, I saw an email to Julianna, the rep. saying that the deferment was posted and that it was waiting for me to come back from my mission.

I LOVE SUU!!!

You're Kidding Right?

It's finally here, the Final Election week. It's hard for me to believe just a year ago I was a huge part of this, not knowing what the final outcome may be. But now, I'm overseeing it all, answering any of the candidates questions, helping with posters about the big assembly and pep rally this Friday, and preparing for the skit that this year's Student Council will perform during the assembly. There is however, a big sigh of relief though, I don't have to worry about winning or losing this time. I just have to worry about choosing someone to take my place. I've been looking real hard for options all year, we have one possible candidate for a Junior Tech Rep. however, he's still thinking about it (I hope he says yes, it would make it easier on me.) I'm now in the process of looking for a Senior Tech Rep. but so far, I haven't been able to find any for sure. There's at the moment one possibility, I just need to talk to her and see if it is alright with her that she takes this position.

...Still can't believe I'm almost done with Stud Co, I think I'll fail my classes this term so I can at least stay one more year....

MVHS IS THE BEST! (aka February Madness)

At Mountain View, we pride ourselves for our great teams and fans. This past week, Me and all the other Bruin Crazies got to see Mt. View Basketball at it's finest. In this entry, I will recount the days that we had basketball, tell you what team we played, the final score, and any insights I had. I'd also like to inform y'all that because of the terrific madness that this week was, I'm currently lacking a voice, that's how awesome this week was.

Tuesday
Girl's Basketball
Mountain View Vs. Woods Cross
(Round 1 of State Tournament)

This game was pretty intense to start the week off. MV seemed to struggle for most of it, missing passes, layups, and not being able to hold the ball for a long time...That is, that was the way it was in the 1st quarter. Our MV basketball team is amazing in the fact that, it seems that the first quarter doesn't really matter to them. After the first quarter, we beat them, no doubt about it with the final score being 53-44, our Lady Bruins came out on top to advance to the quarter finals against home town rivals, Orem. (Duh, duh, duuuuhhhhhhh)

Wednseday
Girl's Basketball
Mountain View Vs. Orem
(State Quarter finals)

Ah, what a game. In this game, you wouldn't have known it was a rivalry, just a warm-up for our Lady Bruins to get ready for the semis. When I arrived there, I checked how many fans we had, versus how many fans Orem had. While Orem outnumbered our fans 3 to 1, the Bruin Crazies did what we do best, scream louder when our numbers are smaller. We did that, and while we did our part, the Lady Bruins did their part by stealing the ball every possible way they could, driving the ball in for a lay-up, and adding a few 3s as sprinkles on this victory's cake. The final score was 64-36. This would be a precursor of what was to come.

Thursday
Boy's Basketball
Mountain View Vs. Orem
(Orem's Senior Night)

I didn't get see most of this one, for the reason of goin' to the Draper Temple Open House, which, may be why we won this won. From the texts that we recieved and the news about the players, we found out that Mountain View won early in the game. For the first twenty points that we made, none, I repeat, none were missed. That includes the 3 point shots and any possible fouls. We never lost that 20 point lead. When I arrived with some friends to watch the rest of the game, it was near the end of the 3rd quarter and we were still up by twenty. Near the end of the game, there was a roar from all the fans and parents in the gym. Orem has had a mentally handicapped manager on their basketball squad since our sophomore year, and today, they let him have a chance to be part of the game. Mountain View was courteous enought to not steal the ball from him and let Orem rebound all shots for him so that this games little hero could have a chance to play. He shot the ball from half court every time, every time we all screamed and cheered, and everytime, it hit the rim. Even after he had his chance to play, and was substituted back out, everyone was still cheering for him. The final score for this game was 64-41.

Friday
Girl's Basketball
Mountain View Vs. Snow Canyon
(State Semi Finals)

This game was similar to all the others the Girls have played this year. Pure domination. Still not having a ton of fans, the bruins came and watched our Lady Bruins beat the warriors to a bloody pulp. Final score 61-47. Go Bruins!!!

Saturday
Girl's Basketball
Mountain View Vs. Springville
(State Championship)

This was it, the big dance, the Ship. Mountain View came into this one knowing our opponents from the regular season. That didn't stop them though, they came on top by having Christina Augustin force her way through the mass that was in the Key and making the lay-up, we'll go about 99.9% of the time. Megan Goodman came out with three 3s, and fouling was rampant. Springville is known as the Red Devils, and they don't lie about the devils they are. From dirty and inapropriate chants, to the name of their football field, they are bigger jerks than Orem. The Girl's still beat them though, with a help from the Crazies. After one of Springville's players Air-balled a three, we didn't let her forget it the entire game. Every time she touched it, that's all she heard. Throughout the rest of the game, we figured out that she was Springville's best player, and we had messed with her head, badly. Mountain View takes State with the final score of 49-32.

Now for some final remarks. This team has pushed through so much this year. Lacking fans from their own school to having a new, but remarkable coach, they still came on top. This squad has been playing with each other and STARTING, since thier Freshman year. The coach, knowing this, let them play how they knew how, and aided them the best that he could.

Mountain View prides itself in having the most State Championships in the state of Utah, most in Track and Field, and Cross Country. I've seen thos trophies presented to the schools in assemblies, but most of the time, they don't have any real effect on me. Last week however, I witnessed our Basketball team be the best ever. Talking with my friend Luke, we both commented on the fact that, for the first and only time in our High School career, we didn't take state in track, and how much better it felt. We had seen our Boys soccer team go to the finals for the last 2 years, but always fall short of the mark. This, this made up for it, and now I can say, I am part of a state champ school.

HERE WE GO BRUINS..... HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!

SUU!

Well it looks like i'm goin' to SUU. Today I received another letter from them today and was in high hopes of a decent scholarship. Little did I know that when I started to read it would give me more than decent. It was a Dean's Scholarship. $1200 a year. I couldn't believe it. I had put so much more thought into attending USU that I didn't even consider the fact that appyling for a leadership scholarship would help.

DEFEAT!!!

Well, it was good game, lots and lots of calls, almost more than half the points scored all off free throws, sick passing. It was good. The final score was 39-42, but I didn't care. The only thing I cared about was if my throat was bleeding hard enough and if I was as horse as my friend Carissa. After the game I went with my friends and met up with the few likable people from Orem High. We talked about the game for only a short time, however and put it all behind us. To me, this shows how friendship can destroy walls that other things can't. One of my Orem friend's name is Collin. Me and him, we're twins separated from birth, or so we'd like to think. We talked about trading shirts one day, especially when I have student council one day, and get reactions from everyone. Now while I may end up losing my life because of it, I wouldn't care, if both Collin and I do it, it'll be awesome.

B-B-BRU I-I-INS

Well it's here! The first MVHS vs Orem High Basketball game. There's a lot on the line, having won the game last year, there's high hopes that we do it again. This year we decided as a Student Council to theme this first game "This is Bruin Territory!" It's a very popular cheer and we hope that with our various cheering tactics that we keep the Orem Tigers on their paws.

I will report back with details about the game.

Well..... This is quite a predicament....

Today I received my second college acceptance letter. The first one I got the week of preference was one for USU. That was a big deal because I've always wanted to go to USU, regardless that I live less than 2 miles BYU. I also received a scholarship for 500 dollars in housing if I go there. Today however, I got one for SUU. Both are good schools, SUU is a better arts school and I want to go into graphic design and arts, but USU has a better staff, or so I've been told. We'll have to see...

Awesome Party

This last Friday, I was just wandering around my house wondering, "Hmmmm....., what shall I do tonight?" While I was thinking this, my mother called me to pick up Griffin from the hospital, so that my mother and sister could by in peace while they waited for results on Maggie's leg and knee. On the way there, I received a message from my friend asking if I would like to go to a Birthday Party. I was shocked, apparently she had asked the Birthday Boy if I could come, and replied that he wold love for me to.

So I go to the party, apparently too early, (The party started at 8, I arrived at 8:10, he said that people would be arriving at 8:30 at the earliest, till I arrived.) So the party commenced. Oh yeah, the kid's name was Kenny Millard, he has a sister on Student Council with me named Sheri and they're both a blast to be with. It was fun to say the least.

We played Guitar Hero for a while, in which Kenny destroyed who ever he played against, especially Through the Fire and the Flames. I got to play against someone as well. The guy I played against asked if we could play on hard, so I said yes and we played When You Were Young by The Killers. When we finished the song he acknowledged his defeat, but I warned him to turn around before the stats screen showed up. He asked why, and as soon as he saw he knew. I got and perfect and everybody who saw it was stunned.

Also, we played a game, I don't know the name exactly, but it was really fun, funny, fast, and required a ton of focus. At first I didn't get the game, but over time I understood and was going at the speed that everyone else was at. It got intense at times, but again, it was really fun.

Finally, we all enjoyed having some home made donuts and watched the reality show Ms. America. Now while almost everybody was laughing at the over dramatic ladies, we cheered loud and proud for Ms. Utah and hoped that she did well.

Weekly Wendy's Report

For those of you who don't know, my friends and I make an attempt at least once a week to go to Wendy's and have a good time, kinda like a bar without the alcohol.
Today's adventure involved meeting with some friends from school. Chris, one of my best friends, decided to take a challenge from one of our buds from school to a game of Egyptian Rat-Screw. There was a change in one of the rules but, they played anyway. We all spent about a half-hour laughing at how bad Chris was losing. It was fun to watch, probably more to play, but we all enjoyed the entertainment.

Here it goes!

Well, I've decided to take part in the blogging! My mother has shown me the wonderful effects it has and I have seen the connection it has with what the Church has said about keeping a journal and personal history. I will hopefully be more consistent at this...
